An Historic Treasure

The Prallsville Mills, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, offers a variety of cultural and community activities in a magnificent setting along the Delaware River and D&R Canal in Stockton, N.J. It’s a multiple structure site that represents the early 19th- to early 20th-century industrial era, yet many of its buildings date back to the late 1700s. The 10-building complex includes a grist mill, linseed oil mill, saw mill and granary. In recent years, the Prallsville Mills complex has become not only a hub of cultural and environmental events, such as concerts, art exhibits, antique shows, holiday parties, auctions, and meetings but also a popular venue for weddings and other celebrations. These private events are an important source of income for the restoration and maintenance of the site.

Delaware River Mill Society

The Delaware River Mill Society (DRMS) was established in 1976 to maintain and operate the land and properties of this significant historic complex.

Our mission is to preserve the Prallsville Mills complex, interpreting its rich history and fostering its use for cultural, educational, recreational, and community activities.

Beth Japchen joined the Delaware River Mill Society as Executive Director in 2017. With a marketing background, can-do attitude, and an amazing eye for detail, Beth has in a short time brought new ideas to the Mill Society.

A mother of three sons, Japchen is a Penn State graduate and cares passionately about our community. She is a long-time member of the Swan Creek Rowing Club and is on the Board of Directors of the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce. She lives in Buckingham, PA.
